Rottnest Island is a popular holiday destination, located 18kms west of Fremantle.  The Island has six major habitats: coastal, salt lakes, brackish swamps, woodlands, heath and settled areas.

Rottnest Island is famous for its laid back atmosphere, pristine beaches, surf breaks and coral reefs. It is also a popular destination for recreational divers.  Its most famous inhabitants are quokkas – small marsupials found only in this unique habitat.
