The capital city of Western Australia, Perth is located on the traditional booja (country) of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation.

The urban centre of Perth is situated on the Swan River, known in the Noongar language as Derbarl Yerrigan, and is home to Kings Park, one of the largest urban nature reserves in the world.

The settlement of Perth was established in 1829 and has since grown to become a thriving contemporary city. Visitors to Perth have the opportunity to learn about the region’s Indigenous history from its Traditional Custodians, to enjoy the city’s many natural features and attractions including its white sandy beaches and nearby wineries, and to sample the many cafes, bars, arts and cultural experiences on offer throughout the city.
