Like the sentinel Boab trucked in from the Kimberley to Mooro Katta, the bus driver is big bellied and small headed. His voice cuts in and out as he swings past roundabouts, pointing out views over the river, a statue, guardian trees and pavilion before waving us towards Aspects for an art experience. Inside, the kids fret, whip out phones, scroll takeaways, whisper in tongues, lean into each other, unmoored. I tap the Boab and ask him to take us home.
